Carley Wilson Brown has over 30 years of experience in graphic design and advertising—half of those years in book publishing. Her introduction to trade book design and production began with Turner Publishing, a division of TBS, Inc. and publisher of more than 200 titles including several NY Times bestsellers. She served as Marketing Art Director during her tenure and in 1997 Turner’s publisher, Michael Reagan recruited her to be Design Director for his new venture, Lionheart Books, Ltd., an Atlanta-based book packaging company. Working with publishers that included Andrews McMeel and Time-Life Books, she spent 10 eventful years designing and producing nearly 50 trade book titles ranging from gift book minis to oversized monographs. Titles include: Thomas Kinkade: Twenty-five Years of Light, Sir Edmund Hillary & the People of Everest featuring the photographs of National Geographic photographer Anne Keiser (Andrews McMeel), The Under Sea World of Wyland (Time-Life), Why We Walk: The Inspirational Journey Towards a Cure for Breast Cancer (Rutledge Hill Press), Claud Mann’s Dinner & a Movie Cookbook and CNN Reports: KATRINA: State of Emergency (TBS/Andrews McMeel). Awards include Gold, Silver and Bronze ADDY awards, the Champion Paper Imagination Award, Mead Top 60 Show–Award of Excellence.
